Hello, thanks for being here. I look forward to meeting you in session soon. I offer personal SE™ sessions that supports you feeling more like yourself. I use SE talk and touch techniques that work to help you integrate traumatic experiences and renegotiate patterns of stress, duress and anxiety while building a robust and resilient nervous system.

Somatic Experiencing™ is a body-oriented therapeutic model applied in multiple professions and professional settings— coaching, medicine,  teaching, and physical therapy—for healing trauma and other stress disorders. It is based on a multidisciplinary intersection of physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics and has been clinically applied for more than four decades. It is the life’s work of Dr. Peter A. Levine. To learn more about Somatic Experiencing please visit www.traumahealing.org

I work with individual adults and teens and I'm currently taking new clients. We heal within the context of relationship and the nervous system requires a sense of safety to allow the mind body to trust the process of renegotiating trauma. I am here as a resource to you. I provide a safe space for you to process, feel and listen deeply to the innate intelligence of your body mind.

I offer sessions on a sliding scale with my base rate at $150/55min session. I am a certified Somatic Experiencing ™ Practitioner, not a licensed therapist so I'm not taking insurance at this time. I offer sessions in-person at Wise Counsel & Comfort on Woodstock blvd in SE Portland and online via zoom.

“I was hurting, suffering
from a pain so great,
that words, screams and tears were not enough.
So I danced”

What is an SE Session like?

In SE sessions you will renegotiate lived traumatic experiences through a process that accesses the innate wisdom and self-organizing aspect of the nervous system. We will sit together as you explore the range of experiences that make up who you are and who you know yourself to be whilst discovering new pathways and new ways of being. Through developing an inner felt sense and a robust inner capacity you will gain insight into your emotions, behavior, images and make meaning of these interwoven aspects of self. As you track, I pay close attention to your gestures, breath and involuntary movements that might give me clues about your inner state and I will curiously inquire and offer suggestions and pathways of exploration. In this way we will uncover your inner resources and establish a more resilient nervous system so that you may develop a greater capacity to integrate trauma and move toward completion.
A regulated nervous system is one that is able to respond spontaneously and appropriately to the stimuli of the inner and outer world and experience a sense of flow. It is our work to learn to listen, slow down and feel our way through our lived experience, integrate adversity and move from fixity to flow.

Somatic Experiencing

Live life in flow

Somatic Experiencing is a nervous system based approach to renegotiating and integrating trauma and treating PTSD. Peter Levine developed this method and has worked in the field of stress and trauma for over 40 years.

I found SE over 20 years ago when I was in my 20’s and felt tremendous shame about my body and was making unhealthy choices that took me further away from happiness, meaning, and connection. After a traumatic injury in 2017 and subsequent recovery I began my journey toward becoming a Somatic Experiencing Practioner.

I offer SE sessions specializing in traumatic injury, birth/abortion/IVF trauma, sexual trauma, trauma related to medical procedures or surgeries, developmental/attachment trauma, complex pstd and anxiety. I serve the greater Portland area and internationally via zoom. I am an SE Approved Session Provider at the advanced level, advanced level SE training assistant and former Coordinator for the SE Professional Training Seattle cohort.

The SE approach facilitates the completion of self-protective motor responses and the release of thwarted survival energy bound in the body, thus addressing the root cause of trauma symptoms. This is approached by gently guiding clients to develop increasing tolerance for difficult bodily sensations and suppressed emotions.
